Active Africa<\/strong> was founded in 2004 following a volunteer experience at the Mar\u00eda Mediadora orphanage in Chezi, Malawi,<\/strong> at a time when the country was experiencing a severe famine.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n Initially, its priority was to meet the most basic needs: feeding people and purchasing medicines.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n Today, their work focuses on improving education, the true driver of change, through the reconstruction of schools and the establishment of new ones. They also run an extensive scholarship program that directly impacts academic improvement by supporting the best students.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n They continue to support healthcare systems in Malawi and Kenya<\/strong> by building infrastructure and providing medicines and ambulances.
