Turkey:
Mesopotamia (Between the Tigris and the Euphrates)
Ascend the legendary Mount Nemrut
Visit Göbekli Tepe, the oldest sanctuary in the world
Admire the exquisite mosaics of Zeugma
This fascinating journey through Turkey immerses us in a land of deep mystery, with a history that stretches back thousands of years.
Mesopotamia, known as the “land between rivers,” holds the legacy of countless biblical passages, crossed by the waters of the Tigris and the Euphrates.
Eastern Turkey overflows with richness at every turn. Its exploration feels endless. In Gaziantep, we will marvel at the mosaics of Zeugma, rescued just before being submerged by the waters of a dam on the upper Euphrates and now displayed in a remarkable new museum. From Halfeti, a boat cruise will allow us to contemplate the mythical Euphrates from a unique perspective.
In Şanlıurfa, ancient Edessa, we will follow in the footsteps of Abraham and revisit the era of the Crusades. We will immerse ourselves in the very epicenter of history at Göbekli Tepe, a sacred site built around 12,000 BC—some 7,000 years before the Egyptian pyramids. From Mardin, we will explore Dara, a city built between 530 and 270 BC by the Persian king Darius as a summer residence.
This journey reveals monuments as astonishing as they are little known, offering a deep immersion into multiple cultures and traditions through their gastronomy, markets, and the warmth of their people.

Ferrer & Saret host and local guides
There are travellers, and then there are travellers like Roser Lloveras. Someone who falls deeply, passionately in love with a place—and who is equally capable of expressing, with total honesty and no pretence, when another destination leaves her unmoved. Turkey, without question, belongs to the former.
For Roser, Turkey is like a second homeland.
Ask her how many times she has travelled there and she won’t be able to give you an exact number—there are simply too many to count. She knows the country from north to south, east to west. But more than knowing it, she has lived it. She has blended in, integrated, becoming just another local when she visits neighbourhoods and villages few travellers ever reach.
She understands its culture, knows its history, and moves through the country with ease because she knows how to read Turkey—because she loves it.
When asked about the beginning of her love affair with the country, she goes back to a cold January in 1990. She encountered an Istanbul in black and white: crumbling streets, the Bosphorus Bridge still made of wood, leading to the neighbourhood around Galata Tower—raw, authentic, marked by both truth and prostitution. Shoeshiners, slender minarets, a vibrant street life… it all left an immediate and indelible mark on her.
Since that distant 1990, she has returned again and again, witnessing the country’s extraordinary transformation—an evolution that never erases its essence, and always allows the value of the ancient to shine through.
Travelling through Turkey with Roser follows the core principle of Signature journeys: discovering a culture from within. But with her, you also learn how to wander neighbourhoods without hesitation, to step into an old café and smoke a nargile, or to greet the elderly woman selling vegetables at the market—chatting effortlessly in a practical blend of English, Turkish, Arabic and Catalan.
A traveller who opens your eyes to the social fabric of a place. An expert who invites you into everyday life. Someone who moves through Turkey like very few others can.
