Turkey:
between the Tigris and the Euphrates
Ascend the legendary Mount Nemrut
Admire the exquisite mosaics of Zeugma.
Visit Göbekli Tepe, the oldest sanctuary in the world.
This fascinating journey through Turkey immerses us in a land of deep mystery, with a history that stretches back thousands of years.
Mesopotamia, known as the “land between rivers,” holds the legacy of countless biblical passages, crossed by the waters of the Tigris and the Euphrates.
Eastern Turkey overflows with richness at every turn. Its exploration feels endless.
In Gaziantep, we will marvel at the mosaics of Zeugma, rescued just before being submerged by the waters of a dam on the upper Euphrates and now displayed in a remarkable new museum. From Halfeti, a boat cruise will allow us to contemplate the mythical Euphrates from a unique perspective.
In Şanlıurfa, ancient Edessa, we will follow in the footsteps of Abraham and revisit the era of the Crusades. We will immerse ourselves in the very epicenter of history at Göbekli Tepe, a sacred site built around 12,000 BC—some 7,000 years before the Egyptian pyramids. From Mardin, we will explore Dara, a city built between 530 and 270 BC by the Persian king Darius as a summer residence.
This journey reveals monuments as astonishing as they are little known, offering a deep immersion into multiple cultures and traditions through their gastronomy, markets, and the warmth of their people.
