Ferrer & Saret companion
Irene Cordón i Solà-Sagalés holds a PhD in Archaeology and Ancient History from the Autonomous University of Barcelona (UAB), as well as a Master’s degree and a Postgraduate diploma in Egyptology from the same institution. She also has a Law degree from the University of Barcelona (UB). As part of her doctoral research, she spent a year as a visiting researcher at the American University in Cairo.
She has taken part in an archaeological excavation campaign in Saqqara (Egypt) with the UAB and has participated in numerous Egyptology conferences. She is currently a member of the Catalan Society of Egyptology and teaches courses and gives lectures in a variety of public and private institutions.
Her greatest passion, however, is travel. In this spirit, she designs and leads cultural journeys with the travel agency Ferrer & Saret.
She writes articles on Egyptology for both academic and popular publications, including National Geographic Historiaand Sàpiens, and collaborates with Catalunya Ràdio on programs such as En Guàrdia! and Els viatgers de la Gran Anaconda. She is also a regular contributor to the program Això els antics ja ho feien on Cadena SER Catalunya.
In 2020, she was awarded the Manuel Iradier Communication Prize by the Exploradora Geographical Society.
