Active África
Active Africa was founded in 2004 following a volunteer experience at the María Mediadora orphanage in Chezi, Malawi, at a time when the country was experiencing a severe famine.
Initially, its priority was to meet the most basic needs: feeding people and purchasing medicines.
Today, their work focuses on improving education, the true driver of change, through the reconstruction of schools and the establishment of new ones. They also run an extensive scholarship program that directly impacts academic improvement by supporting the best students.
They continue to support healthcare systems in Malawi and Kenya by building infrastructure and providing medicines and ambulances. Their priority is children and women, the most vulnerable members of society.
Active Africa also runs several women’s empowerment projects, offering training and microcredits to help them start small businesses.
El proyecto que Ferrer & Saret está apoyando, se sitúa la misión de María Mediadora, en Chezi, Malawi.
Ferrer & Saret contribuirá a la alimentación y cuidado de los 120 niños huérfanos que viven en el orfanato y los 256 huérfanos que están con sus familiares más cercanos en los poblados, pero reciben ayuda alimentaria , escolar y sanitaria del centro.
The project supported by Ferrer & Saret is based at the María Mediadora Mission in Chezi, Malawi.
Ferrer & Saret contributes to the nourishment and care of 120 orphaned children living at the orphanage, as well as 256 orphans who live with their closest relatives in nearby villages but receive food, educational and healthcare support from the centre.
The aim of this support, however, goes beyond basic assistance. These children are being given essential support to lead a dignified life and to look to the future with hope.

Active África Golf Tournament
Active África has been organising the Active Africa Golf Tournament at the Sant Cugat del Vallés Golf Club for the past 19 years. Thanks to the outstanding level of participation and the continued support of our loyal sponsors, numerous programmes in Malawi and Kenya have been made possible.
With the funds raised last year, and with the support of Ferrer & Saret, we were able to provide several scholarships to students pursuing higher and university education.
We also financed the construction of a new maternity wing at Likuni Hospital in Lilongwe, the capital of Malawi.
