The Elena Barraquer Foundation organizes medical-surgical expeditions to remote parts of the world to perform cataract surgeries, with the goal of restoring sight.
Cataracts are the leading cause of blindness worldwide. Four out of five people who are blind could regain their vision.
The Elena Barraquer Foundation is committed to reducing that number. To do so, it travels on expeditions to far-flung locations such as Mauritania, Malawi, El Salvador, Guinea-Bissau, Honduras, Algeria, Guatemala, Nigeria, and Congo.
