Fiji:
let’s get lost in paradise
Want to see manta rays? No, better yet, swim with them.
Head into the interior of Viti Levu to descend its rivers
Enjoy a sunset catamaran cruise with dinner and music
Using the word “paradise” to describe a place often sounds like a cliché. And it usually is — unless we are talking about the magnificent islands of Oceania.
What can we do in such a beautiful place? One option is to not do anything at all. Its delicate and luxurious resorts are an invitation to simply contemplate, sip on a cocktail, and enjoy a soothing massage.
But there are other options, one more exuberant than the other.
Fiji has 300 islands, meaning hundreds of white sand beaches with imposing palm trees and rich coral reefs. It’s a tropical paradise where snorkelling and diving are unparalleled
By sea, as we have said, it’s incomparable. And by air? Moving between islands on a hydroplane is an unforgettable experience. You choose whichever beach you desire from the air and within a few minutes you’re swimming in it.
Your options are numerous and varied. Like visiting villages and living with their peoples that receive you with their kava ceremony which includes an invitation to a drink served in a coconut bowls with slight narcotic properties.
Another interesting option is to search after its festivals, like Suva, the Hibiscus Festival. A spectacle of colour, flowers, carriages, music, and traditional food stands.
But above all, leave time aside to walk along the sand, to let the warm waters stroke your legs, and to let your eyes get lost in front of the spectacle that consistently surrounds you in Fiji.
