BOOK YOUR TRIP

This journey is a unique opportunity to reconnect with our origins. Atapuerca does not just tell a fascinating story; it tells our own story.

This is much more than a weekend to enjoy Burgos, a city that almost automatically evokes iconic images: its imposing Gothic cathedral, fine wine, roast lamb, the famous pinchos with blood sausage or chorizo, and winters that take your breath away. In recent years, however, Burgos has also become a center of attraction thanks to the Sierra de Atapuerca and the fascinating Museum of Human Evolution.

Visiting an archaeological site is like reading a book in reverse: from top to bottom, from the most recent chapter to the oldest. And the Sierra de Atapuerca holds some of the most important chapters for understanding the history of human evolution in Europe.

In this unique place, for example, the most complete skull of Homo heidelbergensis, around 500,000 years old, has been discovered, along with Neanderthal remains and fossils of six Homo antecessor, an extinct species of the genus Homo dating back 900,000 years. These findings make Atapuerca the cradle of the earliest known Europeans.

Where do we come from? Who are we? Where are we going? In Atapuerca, these questions become tangible, and we are here to find the answers.
